CS Floating License Server E-mail

Description

CS Floating License Server is intended for using some CADSoftTools products in Floating Licenses mode. This mode allows using a restristed amount of user licenses on unlimited ammount of working places. In other words, when a customer buys one or more user Floating Licenses he/she can use them everywhere where respective software have been installed. If he/she has several computers which will not use a CADSoftTools product at once he/she don’t need to purchase licenses for all these computers. It is just enough to purchase Floating License for the estimated most number of simultaneously run copies of the CADSoftTools product. Floating Licenses make your life more convenient and save your money.

Technical features

Floating Licenses are intended for usage in TCP/IP net. It consists of program CS Floating License Server and CADSoftTools product installed on computers in the TCP/IP net.

A multi-user floating license uses a server to issue licenses to remote applications. The CS Floating License Server must be run under Windows NT platform (NT 4, 2000, XP, 2003) Server or Workstation for storing and managing registration data.

Every time a client uses a floating license he/she connects to the CS Floating License Server he/she gets ("leases") a license from that server and the number of available licenses on this server is decreased. When client finishes its work, the license is returned to the CS Floating License Server and it is available for other machines.

How to use...

After purchasing CADSoftTools product with Floating Licenses customer receives a letter with registration key and respective links where he can find ZIP files with CADSoftTools product and CS Floating License Server. After installing both products he has to perform two steps.

Step 1: install CS Floating License Server on a computer under Windows NT platform (NT 4, 2000, XP, 2003) Server or Workstation for storing and managing registration data.

  • Run CS Floating License Server.
  • Press Add button.
  • Select necessary CADSoftTools product in the respective drop down list of the Application dialog.
  • Enter registration key in the Key feild. This key is in the letter sent from CADSoftTools web site. Screenshot

Step 2: install CADSoftTools product on a computer with access to TCP/IP net.

  • ABViewer (click here to go on the web page):
    • Run ABViewer
    • Select Help > Floating License menu item.
    • Floating License dialog will arise.
    • Set on Use Floating License Server option.
    • Set in the field Host a server name or Internet IP-address of the computer where CS Floating License Server has been installed.
    • Set necessary port in the Port field (5000 by default).
    • Select necessary version of ABViewer (Standard, Professional oder Enterprise) in the App drop down list. Screenshot
  • CADViewX (click here to go on the web page):
    • Run some CADViewX demo application (press button Start, select All Programs > CADViewX > Demos > ...).
    • Right click to call context menu.
    • Select Floating License Registration... menu item.
    • Floating License dialog will arise.
    • Set on Use Floating License Server option.
    • Set in the field Host a server name or Internet IP-address of the computer where CS Floating License Server has been installed.
    • Set necessary port in the Port field (5000 by default).
    • Select CADViewX ActiveX control in the App drop down list. Screenshot

  • CADImport .NET (click here to go on the web page)
    • Run some CADImport.NET demo application (find them in the ..\cadimportnet\bin\.. folder in the package).
    • Right click to call context menu.
    • Select Floating License Registration... menu item.
    • Floating License dialog will arise.
    • Set on Use Floating License Server option.
    • Set in the field Host a server name or Internet IP-address of the computer where CS Floating License Server has been installed.
    • Set necessary port in the Port field (5000 by default).
    • Select CAD Import NET in the App drop down list. Screenshot
