Ellipse

Introduction  Previous  Next

The Ellipse button allows to draw an ellipse by specifying its center, the length of its first and second axles. The button is in the Editor tab under the section Draw. In the classical menu the command is under the Draw menu.

To add an ellipse

1.Click on the button .
2.1st click: point the center or enter the coordinates via the dynamic input.
3.2nd click: point the end point of the first axis or enter its coordinates via the dynamic input.
4.3rd click: point the end point of the second axis or specify the radius via the dynamic input.
5.Click when done or right-click to see the following window:

Offset- allows precise positioning of the object relative to another object
Double offset - allows precise positioning of the object relative to other objects
Enter - finishes drawing the ellipse
Cancel - removes the drawn ellipse
Full screen - viewing in full-screen mode

An ellipse has a set of properties which can be viewed and edited in the Properties panel:

Property

Description

Color

Defines the color of the ellipse.

Layer

Defines the layer which the ellipse belongs to. The property contains a list of all available on the drawing layers and allows to move the ellipse to another layer.

Line Weight

Defines the lineweight of the ellipse. Is selected from the standard values. You can turn the function of showing the lines according to their lineweight on or off. Each lineweight value corresponds to a number of pixels on the screen. The number of these pixels isn't changed while scaling in the program window. The scale of lineweighht display on the screen is set in the Visualization tab of the Options window.

Linetype

Defines the linetype of the ellipse. Is selected from the standard values.

Linetype scale

Sets the scale for the current linetype. By default it is 1.

Point

Sets the coordinates of the center of the ellipse.

RadPt

Sets the coordinates of the second point of the vector of the major semiaxis, which defines its length and direction on the drawing.

Radius Ratio

Sets the ratio between the minor and major semiaxes. It characterizes the oblongness of the ellipse. The nearer the value to 1 the more like a circle is the ellipse, the nearer the value to 0, the longer is the ellipse.
